it takes planning to get an ink painting done.
the actual painting took 2 hours or so, but the conceptual stage (visualization, sourcing for reference photos, composition, and planning of colors) took weeks.
and there are my favorite paint brushes and watercolor cakes.

Writing is much of the same. Yeah, I can hammer out a 8k short story in a single sitting (no, I do not sit there the entire time. I fear blood clots, so I frequently wander the house daydreaming), but without concrete idea of where those words are going... yeah, I'm lucky to get 600 words, lol.
