Back to the Genuine Me by moyan Back to the Genuine Me by moyan
Kisshou watercolor on rice paper.
for pilar, ~impersonalinfo, as a prize for winning the first place in a #the-haiku-club's contest.

caption on the right in japanese:
真の我にカエル
shin no ga ni kaeru
Back to the Genuine Me

on the left in chinese:
癸巳三月初一
year of Guisi, first day of third month,
moyan.

in japanese, frog is called "kaeru", and it is exactly the same pronunciation with 'return' or 'go back'.
the message in this artwork is to encourage all to emerge from the background (just as the frog stands out from the surrounding green) and be yourself.
