here's my take on a visualization of the autumn he saw and the japanese rendition of his haiku:
七竈満ちる無言の鴉哉 nana kamado michiru mugon no karasu kana
nana kamado is literally "seventh stove". this species of ash wood is said to be able to stayed unburnt even after the seventh time inserted under a stove.
my art tools and preparation work for this painting here:
Well let's begin that I'm a big fan of the crows and I think that Karasu is a smart bird since I was Kid I was Always look after the behavior of the crows ....It's a hard bird to make it domestic pet.....But let's back on my opinion of this art It's amazing I see how hard-working you are ......maybe I could draw this art but maybe after 20 years ......The colors are bright and the black and red reminds me of the red dawning sun and the black sky in the night .... This art is absolutely adorable and beautiful Best wishes j.E.Z
for comment/critique contest, December 2012: This is a very well done piece. One of the best features of this picture is the way you made the viewers' eyes travel. For me, I started at the crow, went down to the branches, and from that point I admired the entire painting as a whole. I like how you placed the crow inside such a bright setting where as a lot of other artists would surround it with gloom. One suggestion that I have is to make the colors more rich or deeper in color. Doing this would create a more defined contrast, and naturally magnetize eyes to this painting. Hope this helped! Keep up the great work.
