i went to redang island, west malaysia june 2012 for a short 3 day break.
at night, a group of us carried electric torches, and a very cool camera plus tripod stand to the beach. in pitch darkness, we took turns to stand in front of the camera set with 30 second shutter exposure speed and started doodling in the air.
chinese calligraphy without a brush, paper and ink. we have to write laterally inverted since we are facing the camera.
we have to move fast so that the camera won't register our silhouette. you won't know what you drew till the camera stopped recording and you look at your masterpiece.
with some practice i must say i did quite well. :D
training in brush calligraphy of caoshu helps a great deal.

caption is added with photoshop with real calligraphy on paper. it reads:
the year of rencheng, fourth month, twenty sixth day
graffiti in the air
west malaysia, east coast, redang island.
my signature seal.

very creative brush strokes that combines painting with calligraphy! it is worth more attention and faves than what it is getting now! (only 4 comments and 8 faves???)

This is absolutely amazing! Beautiful calligraphy is a wonderful sight, but when it's done in such a fashion, I have no words to express how awesome it is.
