"The asphalt never speaks. The asphalt is god. The roar of dust and diesel is its chant. The smell of burnt tire its incense; skid marks its holy book. And through the blur its priest came. I still remember it clearly. A bike, black and chrome, shining. He was clad in priest's clothing. Collar and all. He got off the bike. Sunlight reflected from the shades. Long hair. He strode right at me. A leather jacket contrasted with his clothing. Dark brown. Battered. I saw a sawed-off shotgun in his left hand. Silver on wood.
